If you are looking for a change of career, then the STC Group have a range of courses available including construction and rail track maintenance courses for all ages.
Given the shortage of workers in the building trade, STC’s construction courses are the perfect way to get your foot firmly on the ladder at any construction site as their courses equip their learners with a trade qualification and CSCS card which is a basic licence to operate on any site.
The construction courses are free to the unemployed and include carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating and rail track maintenance.
Mark Eighteen, from STC said: “We have a motivated team of highly skilled tutors, all offering the best professional trade skill training available. We put great emphasis on giving the learners the skills to progress into employment. In fact, if you do not hold the same high opinion of any training we deliver to you after completing your course with us, we will give you the opportunity to return and re take any modules you have undertaken; this is also true of any lectures you have taken as a refresher later on, so if your trained by us you can be confident you will receive complete technical support for as long as you need it after you finish.”
The construction courses are based at STC’s Bletchley purpose built construction training centre, and range from two week basic to four weeks advanced with courses currently running Monday to Friday full time at STC. The construction courses are free to the unemployed starting every two weeks throughout the year. The courses can be tailored to someone wanting to learn new skills in support of employment opportunities to experienced trades people looking to upskill. The funded training takes the form of two weeks per trade and includes a health & safety L1, CSCS test and card.
