MS CHARITY IN MILTON KEYNES RECEIVES FUNDING BOOST

The Milton Keynes Multiple Sclerosis Society was thrilled to learn that its Fitness Programme will be funded for another year due to an award of £10860 from the Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Maintaining mobility and fitness is important to people with MS. The Milton Keynes MS Society are proud to have supported a weekly Swim Club at Leon Leisure Centre for over ten years, and more recently commenced both a seated and a mat Pilates class. The Fitness Programme is one of the major outgoings from the local group’s annual budget, so everyone is very grateful to have received this support. It has even enabled additional swimming sessions to be timetabled.

Grant Miller, a regular at Swim Club, said “We normally break for the summer, but the People’s Postcode Lottery has funded extra sessions for us enabling us to swim over the school holidays. Having Multiple Sclerosis means I find it difficult to find good ways to exercise. Swimming has been a lifeline to me and it has been wonderful for me to be able to continue this essential exercise all summer. Many thanks to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery!”.
