Hofesh Shechter Contemporary Dance 2.0

28 May @ 19:45

£10 – £12

Following the recent success of Hofesh Shechter Company’s tour of POLITICAL MOTHER UNPLUGGED, the company’s award winning development and performance training programme for world-class young dancers, Shechter II, returns with Contemporary Dance 2.0.

Contemporary Dance 2.0 unleashes the intensity of Shechter’s signature ensemble work combined with an eclectic sound score of club-like euphoria, throbbing beats, pulsating hip hop, folk, Bach, and jazz.

In a work that is dipped in ironic references to pop culture and makes a playful take on Shechter’s own art form, in Contemporary Dance 2.0 only one thing is certain, the dancers do it their way.

Contemporary Dance 2.0 is produced by Hofesh Shechter Company and co-commissioned by Düsseldorf Festival!, Espace 1789, with production support from Teatro Comunale, Vicenza, and a production residency at Arts Depot, London.

Hofesh Shechter Company is supported with public funding through Arts Council England. Hofesh Shechter Company benefits from the support of BNP Paribas Foundation for the development of its projects and, with thanks to the UK Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, continues to be #HereForCulture.

Hofesh Shechter is an Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells and Artist-in-Residence of Gauthier Dance (2021-2023). HofeshShechter Company is Resident Company of the Brighton Dome.

This performance has been made possible through MÓTUS, Arts Council, Walton Community Council, The D’Oyly Carte, The Leche Trust, Milton Keynes Community Foundation and Milton Keynes Council.
