Buckingham LitFest is Back in town this June!

This year’s festival continues to pack a punch with over 25 events from a wide range of authors and performers.

This four day festival kicks off at 12 noon on Thursday 18th June in Buckingham Community Centre where we are delighted to welcome Prue Leith – chef, author, businesswoman, campaigner, educator, and television host. Prue will speak with refreshing honesty about life as a modern woman in her eighties as explored in her new book Being Old and Learning to Love It!

Later on the 18th,  Jeremy Hunt asks, Can We Be Rich Again?  Most recently Chancellor of the Exchequer (2022-2024) and Foreign Secretary (2018-2019), he draws on his experience to persuasively rebut those who think Britain is doomed to inevitable decline.

Friday 19th Peter Fiennes takes us on a literary tour of France; Simon Jenkins gives a potted history of America and Oliver Bullough delves into the world of crime and money laundering.

Saturday 20th moves from political broadcaster John Sergeant in conversation; to bestselling historian and novelist Alison Weir who returns to BuckLitFest with her new novel. The Boleyn Secret  through to Professor Paul Dolan who talks tolerance and How to Stop Hating the People We Disagree with!

Saturday is jam packed with many more compelling sessions in between these highlights including local author and illustrator Denise Marsh who brings to life The Knitterwitches, a magical Scottish clan who weave joy and wonder through their enchanted knitting needles. Enjoy storytelling and activities at Buckingham Library who will host this event.

Andy Wilman closes the festival on Sunday 21st, with his hilarious tales of 20 years of magic and mayhem on Top Gear and The Grand Tour – the perfect Father’s Day outing.   Tickets and the full line up across all four days at : www.bucklitfest.org
